The first time I ever heard of dry shampoo was when a friend of mine was visiting me from my home state. I had just moved to Washington, D.C., and she was my first out-of-town guest. We were about to head out for dinner, when I happened upon her in the bathroom touching up her hair with a white powdery substance.
My first reaction was something along the lines of: “what the heck are you doing.” But after she explained, I decided the idea was kind of brilliant, if it worked. She was using the ancestor of all dry shampoos: baby powder. Pure and simple.
