Organization really is key. I am starting to see that more and more as I get older. I am much more content and less anxious when things are in their place and I can easily find them. But as a creative individual, the idea of organizing does not always thrill me. Mundane storage boxes all in a row, despite their obvious benefit, are quite lacking aesthetically. And as a designer I want to surround myself with beautiful things. Don’t we all? Lovely storage solutions do exist.
Often a bit of DIY-gumption is all you need to create something unique and tailored to your space. For me, jewelry frequently gets out of control since I throw everything into one large dish. Chains get tangled and small pieces get lost under their larger counterparts. A vertical stand is the logical solution. With a few natural and simple materials I made this rustic jewelry organizer that anyone can recreate with basic household tools. Once equipped, this project is quick to put together for an easy weekend DIY.
