In case you hadn’t noticed, August is well on it’s way and the back-to-school racks have already started filling up. As adults it can be hard to feel the same sense of season ending excitement when we’re busy with so many other things, but one surefire way to get pumped up is planning a shopping trip for new seasonal duds — especially when they’re designer at an affordable price.
Some of your favorite designers now have off-shoot clothing lines in affordable stores like Kohl’s, JC Penney, KMart and beyond. The lines are carry the same style, aesthetic and personality of the real thing but won’t break the bank… allowing you to sport more than one! We’ll be compiling lists of a few favorite shopping spots throughout the fall shopping season, starting with JC Penney. Check out some of our favorites lines and Fall 2013 looks from the department store.
Like the style icons themselves, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s OLSENBOYE draws inspiration from many different styles — feminine, tailored, grunge, boho, punk and more; but somehow manages to pull it all together into a cohesive line season after season. There’s something here for every girl to love, from tulle skirts to studded leggings and just knowing that your look already comes with the Olsen seal of approval is priceless style confidence.
Featuring both the whimsical and modern classics that Lulu Guinness fans have come to expect from the London-based designer at a far more affordable price, you’ll want to grab a couple of carryalls for your fall wardrobe. Expect lots of London-themed prints on totes and wallets, iPhone cases, coin purses and more — but we have to admit we’re particularly lusting over the crocodile print vintage-inspired chain purses above. We just might have to get one of each.
The Queen of Downtown Cool, Charlotte Ronson’s I Heart Ronson line could fit in seamlessly on the racks with her more expensive namesake brand. Separates can be mixed and match to create looks that are feminine and cool — from chiffon print dresses to crop tops and leather jackets, this collection is all about effortlessness and versatility, which is perfect for long days that take you from the office to dinner and everything is between.
The best way to get ahold of some of the Betsey you’ve always coveted is with her Betseyville accessory line. Chock full of zany chic prints, you can find tons of jewelry, timepieces, handbags and shoes to love. Add a splash of whimsy to any outfit without the guilt.
Nanette Lepore is well-known for her pretty dresses and mixed prints, but isn’t so well known for being friendly to a 20-something’s budget. L’Amour changes all of that, offering some gorgeous frocks, blouses, pants and more, all at under $50. Now you can add some much-needed staples to your wardrobe without breaking the bank.
