Scandal this week was exciting in every way, but still disappointing. It looks like Lisa Kudrow’s appearance on the show is done thanks to Josie’s little sister/daughter planting a laptop full of Josie’s campaign information in Restin’s headquarters to set him up for cheating. I believe that Josie is forever going to be a highlight of this season on Scandal. She showed how much harder politics can be for female candidates, and her digs at James for his sexism is Emmy material. Now for the other disappointing factor of this episode: Olivia.
It is obvious that Olivia is supposed to be great at fixing everyone else’s problems but her own. It is also obvious that Fitz is her Achilles heel, but if you are like me where you despise how much Olivia is able to overlook his faults then you probably eye rolled as much as me during this episode. We didn’t learn anything new about Remington this episode, but once Fitz got Olivia to meet her in his dream house for them (EXACTLY like when McDreamy built a house for Grey) it didn’t matter that he doesn’t explain himself. Nope instead we get a new steamy sex scene between them because a man building a house for you is just a panty dropper even if you suspect him of killing your mother. Also Mellie figures out that the two are together so Fitz standing up for her to that reporter last week has become null. He is still a cheater that will never understand how much she has given up for him.
Now this episode also had a whole bunch of crazy. Olivia’s mother chews through her arm to get out of her cell after Rowan tells her that she is being sent away to another country. Once she gets medical attention she runs away and quickly finds Olivia. The episode of course ends there, but I can’t wait to find out why Rowan faked her death. She is obviously a threat to either B613 or national security to be held up like that for life.
Speaking of B613 Quinn is now a spy on Olivia’s team whether she likes it or not. The team is trying to figure out who killed the security guard which is making her jumpy. She has to report to Charlie who is still very flirtatious with her. I’m not really sure if he genuine with his feelings, but I can only hope that Quinn will hold out rather than succumbing to Stockholm’s syndrome.
The real juicy part in this week’s episode is how Cyrus used James to trap the Vice President’s husband. He made sure that Daniel thought that he and James have an open marriage so he would hit on him. The second time that James and Daniel meet he does kiss him. James pushes him off, but after Daniel says that he thought they had an open marriage James puts the pieces together that he was set up by Cyrus. Cyrus later gets pictures of the two kissing shirtless and gets tears in his eyes. So the whole question is did they really hook up? Or is James pretending they did to make a huge point?
So Lydia readers are you happy that Olivia and Fitz made up? Do you think James cheated? Will you miss Josie Marcus as much as me?
