If you were able to catch The Mindy Project this week somewhere in the middle of your turkey day planning, then you caught a cute episode that is more about the main characters’ growth. Mindy gets an invite to her ex-boyfriend, Josh’s wedding, Danny gets reunited with his younger brother, and Betsy actually gets a line this episode. Progress!
You may remember Josh as one of the few long (and by that I mean more than two episodes) relationships that she had, and he ended up going to rehab. He is also the rare ex who wears glasses and has light hair unlike her other flings. After much desperation Mindy takes Peter to the wedding, and he ends up congratulating the bride, Corrine…on a diaper change station in the unlocked public bathroom. It turns out Corrine is a sex addict.
To go off topic did anyone else notice Peter’s eyelashes this episode? They are so dark and feminine that I wouldn’t be surprised if he was wearing mascara!
Well to go back on topic, Mindy ruins the wedding as a favor to Josh by telling everyone that she tried to sleep with Josh. I don’t know how this is helpful in anyway, but Peter jumped in the public announcement by saying he saw the whole fiasco. On the ride back Peter reveals that he hasn’t had sex in over a year, and he is still messed up that his ex, Becca is engaged.
Ok are we going to meet this infamous Becca?! We have heard him mention her in two episodes already, and although I don’t hate his character anymore I definitely don’t care enough about him to keep hearing him pine over this woman. Hopefully if we do meet her she will end up being as crazy as Rayron, or just a cool cameo from some reality star.
Anyway, Danny is super excited to see his little brother, Richie, who lives in Florida. He practically raised him since their dad walked out on them when they were kids. But Richie has a hidden agenda… and that is to try and get Danny back on speaking terms with their father. This whole story line is something that can easily be wrapped up in one episode so I doubt there will be any mention of it again. It was still nice to learn something new about Danny, however, and to see that he might mature enough to bury the hatchet.
That’s really it. There isn’t a lot that goes on in this episode, and sadly we don’t get much time to see Mindy and Danny together. We also don’t even see her talk to Cliff either. Hopefully we get some kind of closure on this potential love triangle in the next episode before the mid-season finale.
So Lydia readers what did you think of this episode? Do you also want to meet Becca or do you not care?
